Wyre Forest Repeater Group Latest News
April 2008
GB7WF Gateway is now operational and connected to the international
D-Star network. A very big thank you has to go to the UK-IT
team for
their help in setting up the gateway systems in the UK.
Also many thanks in particular to Paul G1DVA & Darren
G7LWT
for their assistance in getting GB7WF connected.
Please go to the GB7WF page for further
information.
March 2008
The WFRG is pleased to announce that GB7WF is now
operational from
Bewdley in North Worcestershire. Please note that the current frequencies
are expected to be changed sometime in April. The original
frequency
allocation put the input frequency in the Low Power Device
section of 70cm
and other groups have reported interference on their
repeaters.
GB7WF is currently experiencing intermittent interference on
the input
frequency so please bear with us until the new allocation.
Please see the WFRG Repeaters page for
further details.
Reception reports welcome.
Many thanks to members of the WFRG who supported this
project, ETCC,
John Turner at Icom & Rod Wilkinson at OfCom.
GB7WF is the Icom D-Star system which carries both Digital
Voice and Data.
It will be connected to the Icom D-Star gateway system in
the near future
so a call locally can be made world wide if the user wishes.
We still urgently require your support to finance this
project, as being a new system
ex-pmr equipment which would usually be used for an amateur
radio repeater
system is not available and all the equipment has to be
purchased from new.
To fund this new project, and as always to maintain our
existing repeaters donations
no matter how small would be gratefully received.
